Stewards
Stewards are the eyes and ears of our local union. They handle on-the-job problems (investigations), communications, and distribution of materials. Our union contract gives us one steward and an alternate steward for every 40 members. Our union contract gives stewards 5 hours each month of paid time available off the job to do the work of the union. Stewards are elected every three years. The President may appoint stewards to fill openings with the approval of the Workplace Committee. Stewards are also members of the Workplace Council and report to the President.

All are elected every three years. They are members of the Workplace Council and meet prior to the Workplace Council to help set an agenda for those meetings. The Executive Board is the third highest body in the local. The President handles the day-to-day operation of the local, works full-time for the union, and is the union's primary spokesperson to the University Administration.
